Stella and family, As I read through these memorials of Abe, I saw the same qualities in him when you visited New Jersey. He was very proud of his family and had a very jolly laugh, but mostly I saw that he was happy to let everyone else shine. He allowed us to enjoy his family as he enjoyed them. We at the Credit Union will miss Mr. Gonzales, who was a special and dear friend. I know I speak for many of us, when I say that he was more than a member. He always had a ready smile, a kind word and a humorous story to share. He was so proud of Joshua, Justin and Jillian and often shared the many special little things they did or said, he was so very proud. I shared the news with many others and all were shocked and saddened to have lost such a sweet, funny and lovable part of our world. Mrs Gonzales, I would also like to say that I was most impressed with you and your family; how loving and graceful you celebrated his life. What a tribute... I know he was proud!

To Stella, Jennifer, Elizabeth and Steven - I will really miss the numerous across the street and in the street conversations that Abe and I have had over the years. They were always fun, pleasant and usually pretty funny. I also know he will be looking over all of you and that is something nice to think about. Best wishes and if any of you need anything at all, please let me know.

My sincere condolences on the death of Mr. Gonzales. God gave us love but someone to love He only lent.

I was saddened to hear about the sudden loss of Abe. I remember him as very warm and friendly, and it seemed like he always had one of his grandchildren cradled in his arms. I would drive up to Dave and Brent's house, and if Abe was outside, he was sure to greet me with that great smile. May he rest peacefully with our Lord. He will be missed.

It saddens me to know of your passing. I will always remember your friendship and humor. The early years in the Air Force were good times. Stella, my prayers go out to you and your family.

I was refinancing my house about a year ago. The title company called and told me we couldn't close because we did not have a survey. This was early in the morning. I called Abe and he sent a crew out immediately and had a completed survey in the title company by noon. We were able to close and hold on to a very favorable interest rate. I don't remember if he even charged me for the survey. This is just an example of the loyalty and generosity that were the hallmarks of Abe's life.

Just a note to tell you how much I will miss my dear friend Abe. I met Abe about ten years ago and developed a friendship with him that I'll never forget. I talked with him daily as we discussed our families and our lives. He was so proud of his family. His love for each of you would show through as he told me about you. Abe will be sincerely missed.

May the Lord give you the peace,grace, and strength needed to get through this painful time. You are in our prayers and the prayers of many. 
The wonderful memory of your husband, father and grandfather will be in your hearts forever and how blessed you are to have them. You have my deepest sympathy.

Abe's grandmother and my grandmother were sisters. I went to elementary school with Rose Mary and remember Abe from St. Michael's. The last time I saw him, I was about 14 years old and he was driving around our neighborhood in his car. I thought of him in the past 10 years when I would hear Sonny Melendrez on the radio talking about the antics they went through together while in elementary school. I thought it was neat that a radio personality was talking fondly about my 2nd cousin. 
To the family: 
Although we have never met, we still share common relatives and hear about each other from those relatives. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies and know that Abe will stay with us in spirit.

I'm glad I got to spend sometime with your family eating Philly cheestesteaks on my "Drive By Tour" of Philadelphia. It was great to see you all then and I hope that is a happy memory you can treasure of your husband & father. Our thoughts are with you all. Diana

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of my cousin Abe. I have found memories of us cousins, as we were growing up attending St. Michael's grade school. God has a plan for all of us and Abe was able to follow the Lord's plan. He is now in a new life and my Family and I here in Fort Worth Texas plan to say special prayers for Abe, now that he is with the Lord God. To my cousin's "May God Bless you all". Let's hope we can all meet one day in better circumstances.

I want to first thank everyone that has helped my family as we continue to mourn the loss of my father. He loved life, laughing, my mother, and his kids, kids-in-law,and his grandkids. I still can't believe this and the shock and pain is great. Your love, patience, and understanding is so appreciated. My dad was loud with his laugh, his cries for coffee, and jingle bell slippers long story- that we love to share - Yet when all his loves were around him, he allowed us to shine. We could get anything we wanted and dreamed of. He wanted us to have everything from late night Oreos, flowers for our gardens, and the brightest house in San Antonio at Christmas time. I miss his whistle and if anyone can teach it to me...well, I'd owe you one. Thanks for your support and for listening. I love y'all. "J"
