

Col. Retired, Adelbert James Manion of San Antonio passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 after a short illness. He was the widower of Bobbye Manion. Born on March 16, 1929 in Racine, Wisconsin to Edythe and Adelbert Manion, he received his under graduate education from the University of Wisconsin and his master's degree while in the military. He played football for his college team.
Serving 27 years in distinguished service to the United States Air Force, Col. Manion received the Second Oak Leaf Cluster and the Legion of Merit for exceptional meritorious Conduct in the performance of outstanding services as Chief of Systems Development and Support Division, Directorate of Personnel Data Systems.
After leaving the military, he continued his career in sales of nursing home computer systems. Upon retirement, he enjoyed golfing, travel and the company of many friends. A Spurs fan, the team has lost a devoted follower.
He is survived by two daughters, Tana Trichel of Monroe, LA and Linda Ward and her husband Bobby from Montgomery, TX and grandchildren, Stacey Elston and husband Jon, Beth Ward, Jana Plauche and husband Rhett, Todd Trichel and wife Ann; great grandchildren: Thomas and Kathryn Elston, Katherine, Will and Matthew Plauche, Remy and Chaston Trichel. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Kay Hancock and her husband O.C. of Monroe, LA. Special Life friends are Col. Retired, Frank and Nancie Sutter.
