Beloved mother, grandmother sister and friend, Adele E. Brandseth went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the age of 94. She was born June 30, 1918 in Wellsville, Ohio to parents, Angelo and Maria Pavia. Adele was born into a large Italian family, being one of 12 children. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and loved her family immensely. She loved life and loved to have fun. Having fun was so important to her. She liked to tease and laugh and did it often. Adele went through life with a song on her lips - you never knew when she would start singing. Many of those songs would be hymns she had sung in the youth choir.
In the 1950’s and 60’s, Adele showed her exceptionally creative side. She made custom lamp shades from silk for an interior design shop. She also enjoyed millinery, having designed several hats with fabric, feathers, netting and jewels. In the 1970’s she was extremely proud of the wedding hats and veils with intricate beading and lace that she designed. She enjoyed sewing and would sew anything and everything for family and friends. Adele was also an artist, painting with acrylics, spinning pottery and working with ceramics. By the 1980’s, she had started making doll clothes for a doll shop and also did some quilting. Adele had so many hobbies and was involved in many activities. She was a Bluebird Leader and Campfire Girl Leader, was heavily involved in church and Sunday school and often enjoyed the activities within her neighborhood community.
Adele was a life long nurturer. She spent years caring for her in-laws, sacrificing much but never once complaining. She looked after the residents at the assisted living center, making sure they were treated with dignity and respect. She welcomed everyone into her home, often inviting them to stay for a meal or coffee and dessert and boy, could she cook! Her chocolate cakes were famous! Adele was such a warmhearted, kind soul and a “genuinely sweet lady” who always had a nice word to say about everyone. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Adele greatly missed her beloved husband and high school sweetheart, Roy who preceded her in death 10 years ago.
She is survived by her loving children, Robert Brandseth and his wife, Paula and Jean Troncale and husband Pete. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory, the lights of her life, her grandchildren who she loved unconditionally: Daniel Brandseth, Amy and Brian Ward, Jason and Andrea Troncale and Jeff and Meghan Troncale as well as her great-grandchildren, Travis, Ellen and Erin Ward, Grace and Hazel Troncale and Gwendolyn Troncale.
Her family will hold a private memorial service to celebrate the life of this beautiful woman.
