Adelina Castilleja Hernandez

Adelina Castilleja Hernandez, born August 21, 1944, went to be with our Lord surrounded by her loving family on December 12, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents Arturo & Avelina Hernandez and brother Arturo C. Hernandez, Jr. She was a loving wife for 47 yrs. She & her husband enjoyed 16 yrs. living in the Washington, DC area. She loved the snow, traveling and hosting many visitors. Among her favorite travels were Germany, Italy, France, Hawaii & Puerto Rico; she also loved her visits to the western U.S. For over 20 years she volunteered as a hospital chaplain. She was very creative, loved to sew, play games, watch movies & sports, particularly her Washington Redskins and S.A. Spurs. She will always be remembered with a loving smile. She is survived by her devoted husband Jesse M. Hernandez, their children Magdalen Luevano, Edward Hernandez, Linda Hernandez, Laura Gonzalez, Olivia Hernandez-Garcia and spouses, 14 grandchildren, siblings Amelia, Daniel, Yolanda & Virginia, numerous nephews & nieces and many many friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday Dec. 14, from 5 pm to 9 pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road. Visitation will also be on Wednesday Dec. 15, from 6 pm to 9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road, Helotes, TX 78023. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday Dec. 16, at 10:00 a.m. also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery # 2.
