

Adolph Kurek passed away on July 26, 2010 at the age of 91. He was born in Rib Lake, Wisconsin on August 23, 1918. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Peter and wife of 45 years Ed Mona Bronaugh.
Adolph is survived by his wife, Jerry Emmons Kurek, son Edwin Adolph Kurek, daughter Mona Gay Kurek Helinski and a brother and a sister. He has four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three step children and seven step grandchildren.
Mr. Kurek held degrees from Chicago City College, St. Mary’s University, Kansas University, and University of Oklahoma where he received his PHD in Educational Psychology. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa. Adolph enlisted in the Army in 1937, graduated from pilot training in 1939 and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lt. Colonel in 1962. He loved hunting, helping his son ranch, and spending time with his family.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 12 noon, Monday, August 2, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
