

The Rowland Family is deeply saddened to inform all that Adra Lee Rowland, age 85, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021, in San Antonio, Texas after a courageous fight with cancer. Born on July 28, 1935, in San Antonio, to parents, Adra W. Rowland and Frances A. Kunz. He was preceded in death by, his parents; his daughters, Terry Ann Rowland and Mary Alice Rowland; and his ex wives, Martha Rowland and Alice Rowland. Adra is survived by his children, Roxanne Elizabeth Rowland, Johnathan Scott Rowland, Michael Reeh Rowland and Christopher Allen Rowland; further, he is survived by his his stepsons, Ronald Hawkingberry, Lanning Tucker and William Osmer III. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
For those that knew him, he was known as an incredibly hardworking man who exemplified strength and integrity in everything he did. He was dependable, humble, and always put his family first. He attended Edgewood High School and went on to honorably serve in the Army National Guard. He then proceeded to excel in his nearly 50 year career in the beer sales business, ultimately retiring from Halo Distributing where he made many lifelong friends. He will also be remembered for his love of cars and his drag racing days at Alamo Dragway in the 1950’s. It was there he earned the distinction of being a Top 10 racer in the San Antonio area. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and San Antonio Spurs and wasn’t afraid to let everyone know it. He sacrificed for his children with years of hard work and his greatest joy came watching their successes in all of their chosen careers. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
