
Agnes Virginia Temple, 89, was born in Memphis, Tennessee, November 11, 1911, and died of heart problems and related complications. She was the only child of Agnes Elizabeth Saunders Cannon and Devereaux Dunlap Cannon. Agnes Virginia moved to San Antonio from Memphis when she was three. She married Seth W. Temple in January, 1944. Agnes Virginia attended Main Avenue High School, Mary Baldwin College and graduated from The University of Texas. She taught school at Main Avenue High School. She was very active in volunteer organizations in San Antonio. Agnes Virginia was president of the San Antonio Conservation Society 1949-1951 and remained active in the society until her death. Twice, she was President of the Art League of San Antonio. She was a member of the Battle of Flowers Association, Military Civilian Club, San Antonio Country Club, Perennial Garden Club, Revelers, 10 of Club, Timely Topics and the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed El Patronato de la Cultura Hispano-Americana and helped promote multi-cultural exchange between San Antonio and Mexico City. She was a member of the Witte, San Antonio Museum of Art and Friends of McNay. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years. She is survived by two children, Susanna and Devereaux and four grandchildren, Karen, Aden, Ginny Virginia and Elizabeth.
