Aida Nelly Garcia

Aida N. Garcia, passed into the presence of Our Lord on Friday, September 24, 2021, at BAMC in San Antonio, Texas after living a beautiful life with her family and friends. Aida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was born on August 25, 1936, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to Misrain and Ana De La Cruz. Aida grew up in Aguadilla, where she met her forever partner and married on August 10, 1957. Throughout her life, Aida cherished those around her, as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a generous spirit, full of love and had an easy and joyful laugh. Aida was impeccable in so much of what she did, the gifts she chose for people, the food she made and the way she dressed. She loved creating beautiful things with her hands from cooking, knitting, crocheting, ceramics and painting. She will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin G. Garcia and daughter, Maria Reyna. Aida is survived by her children, Esperanza Ponce and husband Anthony, Ana Escobedo, Jose A. Garcia, and Marta I. Reyna; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a lifetime of friends. The family will receive friends for visitation at Porter Loring Mortuary North on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. FUNERAL SERVICE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2021 9:30 AM PORTER LORING MORTUARY NORTH Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family requests that those planning to attend services wear a mask in order to keep everyone safe during such a challenging time.
