He retired from the United States Air Force and worked at Kelly AFB retiring from civil service.
Alan was a loving husband and father. He was a member of the Wayside Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margaret Roberts. Survivors: wife, Sharlene Roberts; children, Jim Gardner, Tresa Elengold and Mitchell, Stephanie Barboza and Francisco, Julie Asta and Richard, and Cary Roberts; 21 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Hoover, Isabelle Gibb and Janice Bissett.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
