It is with profound sorrow that I announce the passing of my husband, Alan Schroeder, aka Mi Amor, Schroeder, Hun, Al a beloved husband, father, brother and best friend. Alan was a devoted father to his son, Aaron, whom he loved dearly. His loyalty and care for his family were unmatched. He had an unwavering ability to check on me, always ensuring I was okay, especially as I navigated the challenges of my demanding career. His kindness touched the hearts of my family and friends, as he offered support and warmth to those around him. Alan was a man of great compassion, always ensuring that no one went without. He gave generously, fed the poor and often shared meals with family and friends, embodying a spirit of kindness and community. He traveled with me for my job without hesitation, embracing every adventure and supporting me in all my endeavors. He loved the Basilica of San Albino and Fr. Chris. His favorite part of Las Cruces. Hiking, traveling, live music and barbeque, Alan kept us busy. And we can't forget our precious dogs and cats.
Despite his struggles with anxiety and panic attacks, Alan showed remarkable bravery. He approached each day with courage. His internal battles were often unseen, but they shaped the compassionate and loving person he was. He loved deeply and expressed that love to me and Aaron in return. In order to minimize my worries, he masked it well minimizing his symptoms. His diagnosis of Parkinson’s brought challenges, yet he faced them with unwavering strength and grace. His enduring spirit inspired all who knew him. Alan’s legacy of love, generosity, and resilience will forever remain in our hearts. He will be deeply missed by all. I miss him now.
He left behind his wife, Elena Roman, son Aaron Schroeder, Mother Guadalupe Campos Schroeder, Sister, Sandra Mangum, Brothers Robert (Bob), Daniel, George and Michael (Mike) Schroeder. He will re-unite with his father, Virgil and his brother, JR in heaven.
