Born in San Antonio, Alan graduated from Robert E. Lee, class of 1976. Alan was a life long member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church. He built and ran a successful car business for more than 30 years. An avid fisherman and hunter, he took great joy in passing these past times to the next generations. He found joy in spending time with friends and family on his ranch in Poth, Texas.
Alan is survived by his wife Ginger Vanderhider; daughter Lisa Klar and her husband Jason; son David Vanderhider and his wife Bethany; son Ben Miller, his wife Melissa and daughters Haley and Shea Lynn; parents Bill and Betty Vanderhider; sister Vicki Hall, her husband Bill and sons Will and Brad; brother Larry Vanderhider, his wife Shirley and son Chris; aunts Jean C. Felsing, Sylvia Felsing, and Millie Seal.
