Albert A. Gonzales, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on January 4, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to Florentino & Refugia Gonzales. He was the youngest of 10 children. His father died when he was about 8 years old, so a few years later, he delivered papers before and after school to help the family. Albert was a straight A’ student who graduated from Fox Tech High School. He was attending college and working in Beverly Hills when he was drafted during the Korean War. He was stationed in England and was able to visit several European countries. After he was honorable discharged, he fell in love with and married Emmy Nudding. They were happily married for 55 years and blessed with a daughter and son. Dad began his career at Jack Ammon Photogrametric Engineers, where his work was so accurate (before computers were used), that his map is still on view in Washington, D.C. Then he worked at International Aerial Mapping Company for 35 years, where he had much success, formed lifelong friendships and retired. Albert was dedicated, intelligent, a gifted guitarist and singer. He was President of Branch 117 of Catholic Life Insurance for 2 years and a member of the American Legion Alamo Post #2. Roger and I realize how blessed we were and will always love and remember Dad. He was preceded in death by his parents and all his brothers and sisters. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Emmy Nudding Gonzales; daughter, Sylvia E. Hinojosa & husband, Roberto; son, Roger A. Gonzales; and grandsons, Bobby and Gregory A. Hinojosa.
