It is with great sadness that we announce that Albert Guzman passed away on July 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 92. Albert was born on September 2, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas to Santos and Margaret Guzman.
Known as Al by friends and loved ones, he is survived by his daughter Lisa Ybarra (Eddie); and son Mark Guzman (Melissa); and grandchildren Lauren Fabac (Collin), Lianna Ybarra, Jacob Ybarra, Alexander Guzman and Anthony Guzman.
Al worked and retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Company for over 35 years. After retirement he worked at St. Paul Catholic School as the financial manager and soon after at the Appraisal Review Board – Texas Comptroller Offices.
Al was a man of deep faith and a devoted Catholic. He was a member of St Frances of Assisi Catholic Church and a Knight of St. Gregory.
Al loved the outdoors and could spend hours outside. He also enjoyed taking his dog Maggie on walks in the neighborhood. He was a wiz at gardening and always kept an immaculate yard. In addition, he volunteered at the Botanical Gardens and was a master gardener. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, in his favorite chair. Al loved reading the daily newspaper, reading books, traveling, tending to his roses, Taco Bell and morning coffee.
We are comforted that he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mary Louise.
