The best principal that I worked for in my SAISD teaching career. At Madison Elementary, he recognized teachers as individuals and never failed to acknowledge our work. Happy to have known him. Sorry for your loss.

I will always remember & love Dutchie from Cotulla High School days. He remained a dear friend ever-after. Although I didn't see him often I loved him & his loving wife Betty.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

Let me begin by saying, many years ago I was introduced to Dutch and Betty by my sister Gloria. The one thing I will always remember is from day one they treated me like a friend and not an employee. That meant a lot to me. I didn't know Dutch as a teacher, but from all the things that I have learned from him, he must have been a brilliant one. Among other things, he taught me to become a Master Gardner and that's one thing I will never forget. He will be missed, but I will always remember him when I stop and smell the roses.

I worked as a teacher's aide for Mr. Knaggs at Burnet from 1966-1968. He was a great boss and friend. He did much for me and my family and I will never forget him.
