Albert Will Lee was larger than life and never met a stranger. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage and faith in facing life's challenges with a smile. With his loving wife Debbie by his side, Will left this world peacefully at home on February 22, 2025, at the age of 70.
Will was born to George and Fontella “Tillie” Lee on December 21, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1973 where he played football and was a large part of the auto mechanics' class. After graduation, he worked for Scheel Steel and then moved on to open his own small business, AWL Services, that ran for 20 years. Will closed up shop and moved on to helping two of his sons with their companies.
Will was many things to many people and touched more lives than could be counted. Whether you knew him for 5 minutes or 50 years, he definitely made an impact with his quick wit, charm, charisma, boisterous voice, and belly laughs. He found joy in many aspects of life including hunting, fishing, fast cars, motorcycles, and rod runs. He always said, “A bad day of fishing is always better than your best day at work.”.
He was a faithful servant to the Lord, especially in the last three years. In his younger years, Will taught Sunday school. He served on the MacArthur High School Athletic Booster Club for over 10 years to support his children and the community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever and whenever needed. He found his forever church family at North Oaks Free Will Baptist Church and know that he will truly be missed by all members.
Will met his loving and faithful wife, Debbie, at Blue Bonnet Palace dancehall in 1979. After a 5-month whirlwind romance, they married and had a completed family with 5 children. They were married for 45 years and loved life together until the very end.
Will is preceded in death by his parents, George and Fontella “Tillie” Lee. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debbie Lee; his sister and brother-in-law, Vernell and Steven Gorelick; his children and grandchildren: Amber and David Bain; Daniel and Emily Lee and their children Jack and Luke; George and Elizabeth Lee and their children Sydney, Jacob, Mason, and Alex; Bryan and Aimee Lee and their children Bridget, Colton, and Georgia; Jennifer and David Sada and their children Melanie and Luis Feliciano, and Kayla and Christopher Mabe and their children Ambrey, Eleanor, and Penelope.
Please join us for a casual celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at North Oaks Free Will Baptist Church, 13703 Bulverde Road, San Antonio, Texas, 78247. A potluck reception will follow; please bring a dish to share.
In Will’s memory, the family is asking for donations to The Texas Wildlife Association Foundation.
