

A 1937 graduate of Texas A & M University, he entered active duty in the armed services in 1941 as a first lieutenant in the Field Artillery. Later transferred to the Finance Department, he served in various areas of the United States and in the China Burma India Theatre.
Upon returning to civilian life in1946, he became president of numerous organizations, clubs and companies: Shiner Sien Paper Co., Southwestern Paper Merchants Association, National Paper Trade Association, San Antonio Kiwanis Club, The YMCA, Business & Professional Men's Club, The Town Club and The Revelers.
He was a Director of Alamo Savings & Loan Association, Boysville, Eastern Corporation, S.D. Warren Co., Nakoosa Edwards Paper Co. and Neenah Paper Company.
A. C. was a ruling Elder of the First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of The San Antonio Country Club, The Argyle and The Petroleum Club.
This keenly intelligent and gentlemanly giant of a man was greatly admired and loved by a tremendous number of friends and relatives. He played a significant role in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Rosalie Murray Sien and by his second wife, Almeda Towns Sien.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Isbell Sien; his son, David S. Sien; his sister, Mary Louise Ford; daughters, Almeda Doughty Hodge and husband, Ned, Day Doughty Smith and husband, Paxton, Susan Deal Somerville and husband, Chip, and Abbie Deal Berg; grandchildren, Katie Sien Cantu and husband, Joe, Jennifer and David Sien, Jr., Ned Hodge, Chris Hodge, and fiancée, Sarah Robinson, Erin Smith Horak and husband, Brad, Elizabeth, Jordan and Lauren Smith, Spencer and Scott Somervile, Jennifer Johnson and Cory Berg; great-grandson, Deavin Cantu; nephew, Bill Gibson and wife, Susan of Georgia. The family would like to thank Drs. Seema Dar, Blair Jackson, Michael Natalino, Paul Smith and loving caregivers, Dawn, Ida, Monique and Myra for their thoughtful care and help.
