Alberta Franklin-Johns

Alberta Franklin-Johns, 87, entered eternal life on November 28, 2005. She was born November 26, 1918 in Butler, Oklahoma. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her two sons, Dr. James E. Franklin and wife Lynn of San Antonio, Kenny J. Franklin and wife Kay of New Braunfels; and daughter Mary L. Buller of Pasadena, TX; grandchildren, Jonathan and Jamie Franklin, Kim Franklin, Chuck Franklin, Hank Beatty, and Ken Buller and wife Sherri; great-grandchildren, AJ, Kaci, Chris, Richelle, and Nathan. Alberta is also survived by her sisters and brother, Lillian Strealy and husband Leon, Mildred Heikes and husband Ray, Jimmy Witten and wife Helen, Esta Pickwell and husband Rodney; sisters-in-law Lorene Witten and Norma Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her first husband Claude Kenneth Franklin; her second husband Oliver R. Johns; brother Clifford Witten; and parents James Hubert Witten and Tracy Bell Witten.

Alberta owned and operated Bonded Realty, Franklin Realty, and Alberta Franklin Realty, and was a partner in Realco Realtors in San Antonio for many years. She was a member of the San Antonio Board of Realtors, and served many years on committees as the Chairman to include the Attendance and Ethics Committees. She was a member of the Texas Real Estate Association and the National Association of Real Estate Brokers, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and served on its Red Carpet Committee. She was also a member of the Eastern Star since 1944, and a member of St. David's Episcopal Church prior to moving to Johnson City, TX.
