Alberta Virginia Horlen

Alberta Virginia Brehmer Horlen, age 89, of Hearne, entered into rest in San Antonio, on Sunday, October 27, 2002. Alberta was born May 24, 1913, in San Antonio, Texas to William Brehmer and Augusta Hohenberger. She graduated from Brackenridge High School and Draughn's Business College in San Antonio. She married Clarence N. Horlen in San Antonio on June 22, 1935 and they celebrated 52 years of marriage prior to Clarence's death in 1987. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; brother, Herbert Brehmer; sister, Stella Crowley; and children, William Horlen and Kenneth Horlen. Alberta is survived by her sons, Buster Horlen and his wife Katie of San Antonio, Tommy Horlen and his wife, Gale of Brenham; friend, Patty Wilkinson of San Antonio; step grandchildren, John Terry, Lisa Terry, and Justin Medlock; numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces; and many friends. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the staff of Regent Care at Medical Center Nursing Home, and special thanks to both Janices, Mary Kay, and all of the CNA's that cared for Alberta.
