Alfaretta “Al” Reininger was born in San Antonio, TX on January 21, 1922 to John & Ella (Franklin) Rader. She entered eternal rest on August 20, 2014. Al was an active volunteer at University UMC and for the Texas Center for Infectious Disease, where she was president of the volunteers for many years. She was inducted in the Texas Volunteer Hall of Fame in Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norman Reininger; brothers, William and Norwood Rader; and sister, Rose Jackson. Surviving are her brother, Norman Rader; daughters, Anna Anderson, Judy Fote (Jim), Karen Schulz (Mike); grandchildren, Mark Lenz, Terry Lenz, Scott Tarnell, Leticia Perez, Jennifer Schulz; and great-grandchildren, Eric Lenz, Morgan Perez and Ashleigh Tarnell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 5:00 til 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 28th at Sunset Memorial Park. At 1:00 p.m. there will be a Memorial service at University UMC 5084 DeZavala 78249.
