She was born on Oct. 30, 1927 in Violet, Texas to the late Encarnacion and Augustina Morales. She then moved with her family to Mesquital, Mexico where she lived for several years. At the age of 25, Concha returned to the United States. Here she found her passion for sewing. Concha had many talents, but as a gifted and talented seamstress, she found her life's work at O'Krent Drapery. Concha worked for the O'Krent family business for many years. She enjoyed a wonderful, fruitful life doing what she loved most.
Concha is preceded in death by siblings Natividad and husband Humberto Martinez, Chavela Morales Ruiz, Socorro Badillo, Paulina Torres, Mateo Morales, Manuel Morales and Tomasa Barrera.
She is survived by her husband Jose Angeles Martinez, stepson Joe Martinez, sister Teresa Hinojosa and husband Emilio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Concha had a special place in her heart for her grandnieces and nephews, all of whom brought her so much joy and love. She especially enjoyed the small things, such as celebrating birthdays with cake, barbacoa tacos and Big Red on Sundays, the gift of flowers, pedicures and massages, and her love of music. She left behind a spirit of perseverance, strength, faithfulness, and courage from which all will draw upon. Her simple traditions such as making tamales for Christmas will live on for future generations.
Concha was like a mother and aunt to all who had the great blessing and fortune to have been touched by her selfless life. Our lives are edified and enriched because of her.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care for their love and care during her final days.
