Alfred Erwin Becker

Our beloved Alfred Erwin Becker passed away March 24th. Born March 27, 1933 to Herman and Erna (Aurich) Becker in Austin, confirmed at St. Martin's Lutheran, graduated from Austin High in 1951, and served in the Army in Berlin 1953–1955.

He met Adelheid (Heidi) von Roden in the library at Texas Lutheran College. They married in 1957 in Augsburg, Germany. Alfred graduated with a degree in accounting and worked at Carneiro Chumney in San Antonio. He retired in 1998.

Married fifty-five years, he was always by Heidi's side. They were outstanding parents to their four sons and the family grew with three wonderful daughters-in-law and ten beloved grandchildren.

Loved by many, Alfred was reserved, strong, honest, and kind to all. His passions included playing cards and travelling with the family.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brothers Herbert, Harold and Delbert. He is survived by brother Donald, sons Mike (Lisa), Ron (Andie), John, and Richard (Patty), grandchildren: Jenny, Ben, Jonathan, Abel, Alex, Angelina, Valerie, Dean, Romey and Paige.

Friday, March 31, 5-7pm, Visitation: Porter-Loring on McCullough.

Saturday, April 1, St. John's Lutheran Church: Reception (lunch): noon, service: 1:30.

Interment at Sunset Memorial Park.
