He was born on November 16, 1920 in El Campo, Texas. He joined the US Army during World War II, serving in North Africa and Italy with Company F of the 91st Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron.
For many years after the war he worked for the US Post Office as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1980.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas LeRoy Srubar.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Inez Matson Srubar; daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Jack Counce of Sealy, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Lynda S. and Thomas E. Davis, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; two grandsons, Charles Andrew Weisel IV and James Michael Weisel; and one great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Elizabeth Weisel.
Pastor Dan Muellar, presiding. Interment will follow in San Jose Burial Park.
