

Born in Marathon, Texas on June 15, 1925, he grew up in Marfa, Texas and spent the majority of his adult life in San Antonio. Following in the footsteps of his two older brothers, Alfred joined the United States Navy in 1943 and served valiantly in the Pacific theater during WWII.
After returning home from the war, he met Sara Francis Garcia while attending St. Mary's University and they were married in 1947 and were blessed with three children; General Alfred A. Valenzuela and wife Esther, Debbie Trevino (deceased) and husband Roger, and Claudia Valenzuela and husband Warren, seven grandchildren (Roger Jr., Lori, Patrick, Freddie, Elysia, Jonathan and Jacob), 11 great grandchildren (Roger III, Matthew, Ashlei, Abigail, Gabriella, Lucia, Madison, Hayden, Diego, Logan, Sara, Lena, Marley, Ellie) and two great-great grandchildren (Liliana and Alexander).
He worked at the Bexar County Court House as a self-taught court reporter and coordinator for many San Antonio judges.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and his eldest daughter, Debbie Trevino.
He is survived by his wife, Sara, son, Freddie, daughter, Claudia and sister, Felipa Ramos.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church.
