Alfredo Anthony Castaneda Jr.

Alfred A Castañeda Jr. was born in San Antonio, TX 01/10/1945 to Alfred A Castañeda Sr & Concepcion (Connie) Castañeda and entered eternal rest on July 18, 2025, at the age of 80. He is survived by his daughters Priscilla De Luna (Toby), Pamela Trevino (Paul) and 3 sons, Alfred A Castañeda III, Arthur A Castañeda, Andrew A Castañeda (Marlene). He is also survived by his brother Albert (Buddy) Castañeda (Velma), sisters Sylvia Valadez, Irene Fuentes & Celia Villarreal. He was blessed with numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Alfred’s (Freddy C) passion in life was music, fishing and gathering with family and friends to watch his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed sharing his life stories with anyone who cared to listen and encouraged us to put family first and keep our traditions alive.

He was escorted to his eternal resting place here on earth by his sons Alfred Castañeda III, Arthur Castañeda, Andrew Castañeda, sons-in-laws Toby De Luna, Paul Trevino, & nephews Joey Valadez, Effren Castañeda, & Todd (Tito) Smith. He was greeted at the golden gates of Heaven by God, his parents and brother Adolph John (Chacho) Castañeda, where he will spend eternity watching over his family on Earth. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Kristy Knotts and Embrace Hospice staff, Maria (RN), Tyffany (social worker), Carlos (chaplain), & Maru (CNA). Your kindness and care were appreciated.

Daddy, we love you, we'll miss you and know that we have gained a guardian angel. Rest in peace until we meet again in heaven.

Visitation will be as follows: Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home (226 Cupples Rd. SA, TX 78237)

Public time at 5:00 – 9:00 PM – these times are public and will be shared.

Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM

Funeral Service: Friday, August 8, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home (226 Cupples Rd. SA, TX 78237)

Door at the funeral home open at 8:00 AM

We ask the pallbearers to be here by 10:30 AM.

Service will begin at 11:30 AM.

After the service concludes we will continue with the interment at the cemetery, Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. Our time at Ft. Sam is 1:15 PM.

There will be a celebration of life held on Friday August 08,2025 at the AFW located on 4810 Military Dr. San Antonio Texas 78242 between the hours of 2:00pm through 5:00 pm.
