Alfredo Cavazos Jr., affectionately known as Alfred, entered into the loving arms of our Lord on April 1, 2024 at the age of 82. Alfred was born on February 28, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to Petra Medrano and Alfredo Cavazos Sr. He was the youngest of three children.
From his earliest days, Alfred shared a deep bond with his sisters, Hortencia and Oralia, a connection that endured throughout his life's journey. At the tender age of 18, Alfred embarked on a noble path, enlisting in the United States Army. With honor and dedication, he served his country for three years, earning accolades including a distinguished sharpshooter decoration. Following his honorable discharge in 1966, Alfred dedicated himself to service at the Kelly Base until his well-deserved retirement. Alfred's journey was marked by an unwavering passion for exploration and adventure, particularly alongside his beloved wife, Beatrice. Their shared love for travel, often taking them to vibrant destinations, with Las Vegas holding a special place in their hearts.
Alfred will be reunited in heaven with his parents, Petra and Alfredo Cavazos sister, Hortencia Cavazos; and cousins, Rosa Maria Martinez and David Martinez.
His memory will forever live in his spouse, Beatrice Cavazos; sister, Oralia Cavazos; nephews, Pete Perales and Angel Perales; cousin, Beatrice Cavazos; and numerous extended family and friends.
A memorial visitation for Alfredo will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Treviño Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237 with a memorial rosary will begin at 7:00 PM. A committal service with military honors will occur Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas 78209.
