She was born in San Antonio, Texas on October 11, 1923, the only child of Alice Josephine Stone Tyson and Paul Eugene Tyson.
She was a gentle and loving lady who was greatly devoted to her family and friends.
She graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1940, where she excelled in music activities. She subsequently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Trinity University in 1944 with areas of musical performance in piano and organ.
She married Norman Henry Jacob, Jr., M.D. of Yorktown, Texas on August 12, 1946 at Travis Park United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Jacob spent her years raising four children and was also involved in church and civic activities in San Antonio. She particularly enjoyed her experiences as President of the Women's Society of Christian Service, chapter President of the Daughters of the American Revolution and as an active member of the Bexar County Medical Society Auxiliary.
During her lifetime she also became an accomplished organist who enjoyed sharing her great skills with her community.
After her children reached adulthood, she returned to Trinity University where she received a Master's degree in Education. After graduating, she spent fifteen years teaching Kindergarten in the Alamo Heights School District. She loved her students and is credited by many parents as providing the sound educational foundation for their children.
When her husband retired from medicine, she retired from her beloved profession to spend her final years with him. They traveled the world, always saving time for frequent trips to her favorite spot of Port Aransas, and added many happy memories to their lives together.
Mrs. Jacob is predeceased by her husband of sixty-three years, Norman Henry Jacob, Jr., M.D.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda, and husband Mark Rittenhouse, M.D., of San Antonio; her daughter, Carol, and husband Jack Beckwith, of Boerne, Texas; her son, Mark Jacob, M.D., and wife Lynda, of San Antonio; and her daughter, Paula, and husband John Worthy, of Decatur, Alabama.
