

Alice G. Lopez was born on June 11, 1950 to Pedro V. and Lucia F. Gomez in San Antonio, TX. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2017. She fought a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. She sacrificed herself as a care taker to her parents, mother-in-law and those who needed her assistance.
Alice graduated from Blessed Sacrament Academy and attended San Antonio College. She enjoyed a very successful career at USAA where she worked for 38 years in several different positions. She made long lasting friendships at USAA and in her personal life.
Alice was not only a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, but she was a mentor to those who were close to her. Alice was knowledgeable about many things, talented, and a quick learner.
She enjoyed photography, crafting and traveling. She also enjoyed volunteering with the USAA Volunteer Corp., Tobin Center for the Performing Arts and NIOSA.
Alice is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Raul V. Lopez; their daughter, Dana Martinez (Frank); grandson, Frank Martinez III; siblings: Mary Helen Cervantes (Adolf), Pete Gomez (Mary Alice); and several nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her father, Pedro V. Gomez; mother, Lucia F. Gomez; brother, Henry Gomez and niece, Christina Gomez.
Alice will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
We would like to thank Dr. Steven Kalter, the personnel from the START Center and the staff at Methodist Medical Center Hospital for their compassion and unselfish kindness extended to Alice and to our family throughout her care.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 11th beginning at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Porter Loring on McCullough with recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 PM.
A Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 12th at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Dr. followed by interment in Mission Burial Park North.
