Alice Y. Morales

Alice (Beatrice) Ybarra Morales, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, with her family at her side. Born on October 16, 1951, she was a native of San Antonio, Texas. Alice lived a dynamic and full life filled with love and was dedicated to family and service. She served as a volunteer and aid for 20 years to students at Castle Hills First Baptist School and then spent over 10 years serving as a receptionist and aid to Castle Hills First Baptist Church and First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio. She touched the lives of countless children who knew her as Mrs. Morales. To her family she was known as Beatrice, the name given to her by her grandmother. To her grandchildren she was Mimi and to her nieces and nephews she was Aunt Bea and Tía. Her most cherished titles were Wife and Mom. She loved her family fiercely and treated her friends and their children as family, showing up whenever there was a need for support or encouragement.

Alice was known for her friendly, bright spirit. Over the years, she spent her free time getting the family together, doting on her grandchildren, planning celebrations, making personal crafted gifts for others and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs.

Alice is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Arnold, her daughters, Stephanie Abell (Joshua), and Rebekah, her granddaughters, Alyssa Howard, Ellery and Madelyn Abell, her brother, Roy Ybarra, sister-in-law Diana Chapa (Edmundo) and brother-in-law, Anthony Morales.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Tita Ybarra, siblings Florence Guerrero (Jesse) and George Ybarra (Gloria), her son, Christopher Morales, mother and father-in-law Irene and Arnulfo Morales.

A public family visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9th from 6:00-8:00 pm, at Porter Loring Mortuary, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio.

A celebration of Alice’s life will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church, 404 N. Alamo St. San Antonio, followed by burial at 1:00 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio.
