

Born in Laredo, Texas on November 24, 1934, Alicia was the eldest child of Roberto and Guadalupe Dovalina. Alicia graduated from Martin High School in Laredo in 1953. She continued her education in business school. On April 17, 1960, in Laredo, Alicia married the love of her life, Enrique Cruz. Alicia and Enrique were blessed with three beautiful children, Magdalena, Esther and Enrique, Jr. In April, Alicia and Enrique celebrated their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary. A long-time resident of San Antonio, Alicia retired in 1998 after working 27 years as the divisional secretary at Brooks Air Force Base. Alicia was active in the Catholic Church. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. Alicia was an incredible person who loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed reading and cooking. Alicia is preceded in death by her daughters, Magdalena Cruz and Dr. Esther Cruz Guerrero; her parents, Roberto and Guadalupe Dovalina. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Enrique Cruz Sr. and son, Enrique Cruz, Jr.; her sister, Maria Dovalina Carver; her brothers, Roberto Dovalina, Juan Dovalina, Albert Dovalina and Jorge Dovalina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other close family and friends. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM, Tuesday 23, 2015 at the Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
