Alicia was born on September 3, 1930 in San Pedro Coahuila, Mexico to loving parents, Ponciano Mendez Barrientos and Francisca Villa Adame.
In her early years before having her own family, she was a teacher, stressing her belief in education and cultural values.
Alicia was dedicated to being a devoted wife and mother. She took pleasure and enjoyment in family vacations and the experience of educating her children with life in general.
After her deep, devout faith, she placed her family first in her life and never missed the opportunity to express her love toward all those lives she touched. In her Catholic faith, she religiously prayed the rosary every day.
She was a very nurturing, soft spoken and yet, strong willed lady.
She loved to cook and bake ~ we all enjoyed her delicious, mouth-watering cakes that she baked with her loving hands each and every special occasion or holiday.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lazaro M. Rodriguez, parents and numerous siblings.
Alicia is survived by her children: Hector Rodriguez and wife, Argelia; Sergio Rodriguez and wife, Elvia; Mario Rodriguez and wife, Maria; Esther Cavazos; Veronica Crawford and husband, Greg; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Belen Sanjuanero and numerous other relatives.
We smile, knowing we will always carry her memory in our heart.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 19th at Porter Loring on McCullough.
