Alisa Michelle Davis, age 45 of San Antonio, TX, beloved wife, devoted family member, and proud United States Air Force veteran, passed away on 25 November 2025. She left behind a legacy of courage, kindness, and unwavering love. Her strength of spirit and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Born on 30 April 1980 in Warrensburg, Missouri, Alisa grew into a woman defined by determination, compassion, and service. In May of 1999 she answered the call to serve her country by joining the United States Air Force, where she demonstrated the same steadfast dedication that characterized every aspect of her life. Throughout her military career, Alisa earned the respect of her fellow Airmen and the gratitude of a nation as a physical therapy technician. She attended basic military training at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas and went to technical training at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas. She served with honor at her first duty assignment at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. While assigned there she was recognized for outstanding performance, even winning an annual award above several candidates. From there she spent three years at the US Air Force Academy working at two different clinics, one of which focused on the recovery of academy cadets. Her final permanent assignment was back at Lackland AFB where she was the Non-commissioned Officer In Charge of the PT clinic at Wilford Hall Medical Center. During her enlisted career she was selected for temporary duty to Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia and later on at Balad AB, Iraq. Her commitment to duty and country was matched only by her compassion for those she served with and the numerous patients she helped in recovery. Along the way Alisa earned several lifelong friendships, numerous medals, citations, decorations and earned her Associates’ Degree in Applied Science as a Physical Therapist Assistant before medically retiring from active duty in December of 2011.
After her service, Alisa continued to make a profound impact in civilian life making new friends and exploring her artistic side. Alisa was often commissioned to craft several pieces of art of all types, a passion in which she never wavered from. Whether she was helping others, offering a listening ear, or brightening someone’s day, Alisa brought light wherever she went. She will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her generosity, and the remarkable heart she shared so freely.
To me, she was more than my wife — she was my partner, my anchor, and the greatest blessing of my life. Our years together were filled with love, laughter, and a bond that will remain unbroken.
Alisa is survived by her husband Marcus Davis, her parents Daniel and Marisin Wissman, sister Jessica Knepper (husband Dave) and brothers Jacob Wissman and Sky Walkenhorst, nieces Laura Hill, Hannah Knepper, Evelyn Wissman and nephew Brian Hill. I cannot mention all who loved her without mentioning our fur babies. Alisa is proceeded in death by grandparents William and Doris Wissman, Donald and Margaret Heaser and cousin Joe Vogel along with her birth mother Margo Heaser. She will be joining our beloved fur babies, Lana, Lex, Lolita and Louie while she awaits Link and Lily Davis who are bringing joy every day to their father.
A memorial service will be held on December 19, 2025, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery to honor Alisa’s life and service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to https://godsdogsrescue.org/donate, a cause dedicated to values that are directly meaningful to her.
Her duty is complete, her rest well earned. May the memory of Alisa Michelle Davis continue to inspire and comfort all who knew her.
