

With profound sadness and a lifetime of loving memories, we fondly remember Allen Richard Goralewicz of Cibolo, Texas. Allen passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his devoted family, on September 26, 2025, just one day shy of his 84th birthday. He bravely faced a cancer diagnosis over the last three months of his life.
Allen was born on September 27, 1941, in Hoboken, New Jersey. He was a dedicated family man, building a beautiful life over 58 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Theodora.
A Life of Service and Family, Allen proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran, retiring honorably as a Master Sergeant after numerous overseas assignments throughout Europe.
Above all, Allen’s legacy is the unwavering love he had for his family. He is survived by his wife, Theodora, and their children: Elana (David Weaver) Alexander (Kimberly) Steven (Lilia). He was a cherished Grandfather to his grandchildren: Kayla (Nick White), Courtney, Chelsea, JoAlex, Steven, Joshua. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Logan.
Allen is survived by his brothers, Robert (Beth) and Rick (Cindy) and his sister, Annette, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Grace his children, Allen and Michael and his grandson, Chance Allen Goralewicz.
Beloved pastimes, Allen delighted in spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Allen was at every award assembly, soccer practice, t-ball, football games, volleyball tournaments, wrestling match, Boy Scouts field trips, you name it and Grandpa was there.
Gatherings were filled with his funny jokes, lots of belly laughs, and memorable stories. In his later years, Allen was a regular fixture at the Cibolo Grange and Senior Center, where his favorite game was pinochle.
A true outdoorsman, he was an avid fisherman, enjoying camping in his RV at the Texas coast and fishing in his boat at Calaveras Lake.
Allen also gave back to his community by volunteering with the ROAD Foundation, teaching children how to fish at the CAST fishing events.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to all their family and friends for the continued love, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and a Prayer Service at 4:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home located at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas 78218.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church located at 3919 Harry Wurzbach Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78209.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025 promptly at 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
