AJ was born on January 17, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas, to Allen and Barbara Guidry. He grew up with a deep appreciation for family, adventure, and hard work—qualities that remained at the center of his life.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Michelle Shipe; his grandparents, Mae and Gus Guidry and Phebe and Richard Frank; and his beloved dogs, Fred and Jackson.
AJ dedicated more than 18 years of his career to USAA, where his innovation, intelligence, and commitment to excellence earned him multiple patents. He took great pride in his work and was respected by colleagues and peers alike.
An Eagle Scout himself, AJ embodied the values of leadership, service, and perseverance throughout his life. One of his proudest moments was recently having the honor of pinning his son, Connor, as an Eagle Scout, continuing a legacy that meant so much to him.
Above all else, AJ was a devoted husband and father. He cherished every moment spent with his family and found his greatest joy in creating memories with his children. Whether traveling to new destinations, hiking scenic trails, camping under the stars, dove hunting, riding roller coasters, or working on rebuilding his treasured 1972 K/5 Chevy Blazer, AJ embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; his children, Avery and Connor; his parents, Allen and Leslie Guidry and Barbara Guidry; his aunt and uncle, Rusty and Vickie Guidry; his in-laws, Chuck and Deborah Pinto; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Chuck and Colleen Pinto; his nieces and nephews; numerous extended family members and dear friends; and his loyal four-legged companions, Bodee and Gus.
AJ will be remembered for his strength, determination, quick wit, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
A celebration of AJ's life will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
