With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Allyn L. Schuldt, who left us peacefully on July 17, 2024, in San Antonio, TX. Born on May 22, 1947, in Chicago, IL, Allyn’s journey was filled with love, dedication, and joy, touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Allyn was the cherished son of Cynthia Hudson and Fremont Schuldt, who preceded him in death.
Allyn married the love of his life, Marilyn Fitzgerald, on October 26, 1968. He was immediately stationed in Honolulu, HI where they lived for 4 years and their first daughter, Mishelle was born. They shared a beautiful and enduring marriage of 55 years, and their union was a testament to true love and companionship, steadfast through all of life's seasons.
A loving father, Allyn leaves behind his children who were his pride and joy: his daughter Mishelle Carter, son Matthew Schuldt and his wife Libbie, and daughters Megan Garza and her husband Ramiro, and Allyson Hamby and her husband Brian.
Allyn was also a beloved grandfather to a lively and devoted group of grandchildren: Balee, Blake, Braydon, Braxten, Brock, Preston, Parker, Trista, Raven, Rihanna, Alyssa, and Faith. Each grandchild held a special place in Allyn's heart and was a constant source of joy and pride for him.
His professional life was spent as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, an engineer for The Chicago and NorthWestern Railroad, and a dedicated baker for Luby's, where he took immense pride in his work.
Outside of his professional life, Allyn had a rich tapestry of interests and hobbies. He was a highly skilled artist and loved to draw. He enjoyed playing the slots in the bright lights of Las Vegas, and his dry sense of humor always had us laughing. He loved the dogs he had over the years and had a special place in his heart for his favorite shih tzu, Maverick.
Rest in peace, Al, Dad, and Papa. Your legacy and love will live on in our hearts forever.
