Alma Belinda Mrs. Garza

She was born on November 20, 1936 in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Ramon Cubriel and Angelina Zapata. She graduated from Ursuline Academy before marrying Miguel Garza in December 1957. Alma was a devoted mother who lovingly raised two daughters Catherine Hyland (Kevin) and Leticia Mesaros (Bob), as well as three sons Steven Garza (Christina), Mike Garza (Christine), and Andrew Garza. Alma was blessed with a large and loving family. She had numerous grandchildren whom she loved dearly to include Christine Bell, Anthony Swartz, Stevie Marie Garza, Jessica Pulido (Carlos), Robert Mesaros (Joeylynn), Katie Garza, Mari Hofius, Andrew W. Garza, Jacob and Keone Kubek, Jennifer Ray (Stephen), Kevie Hyland, Sean Hyland, Joshua Heath (Whitney), and Keith Heath (Kim). Her great-grandchildren were the joy of her life and they include Emilee, Jonathan Jr., Joshua, Valerie, Charlie, Jude, Karsyn, Bailee, Noah, Emersyn, Kileigh, Kennedy, Hastin, and Kinzley.

She is survived by her sister Mamie Camargo (Gene) and her brother Reynaldo Cubriel (Bertha), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Alma was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Angelina Cubriel, her brother Raymond Cubriel and his wife Marie, her daughter Leticia Mesaros, and her grand-daughter Stevie Marie Garza.

Filled with caring and compassion for others, Alma made friends easily and maintained contact with many through the beautiful letters she wrote, as well as text messaging and FaceBook. She loved to cook, especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed reading, making crafts, and growing plants. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through many struggles and ultimately gave her peace.

The family will receive friends at 1:30pm Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Life Point SA Church, 10822 FM 1560 North, San Antonio, Texas 78254.
