

Born in San Antonio on June 14, 1940, she was an aspiring actress early in life whose merits included participating as a cast member in John Wayne's movie "The Alamo." With her husband, she was one of the founders of Super "S" Foods, a company which still endures to this day.
Alma was a talented artist. Her paintings adorned her home and the homes of her family and friends. She loved to travel, and along with her husband saw the world and all its beauty.
She was involved in Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she participated in the ACTS community, the choir and was an Adorer of the Blessed Sacrament. She taught Spanish at the elementary level and was lead home room mother for all her children.
Alma was a great entertainer and a truly fabulous cook whose lavish parties were attended by many. She loved being at her lake house and enjoyed the breath taking beauty of God's creation with family and friends.
Most importantly she was a devoted wife and mother dedicated to her children and grandchildren whom were the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Guerra, Sr.; her father, Manuel V. Reyes; her mother, Obdulia C. Reyes; 2 sisters, Isabel Reyes and Alicia Reyes Wheeler and husband Jack; and a brother, Manuel Reyes. Survivors include 2 sons, Arthur Guerra, Jr., and wife Rose, and Orlando Manuel Reyes Guerra; a daughter, Alma Leticia Guerra-Gillette and husband Edward; 5 grandchildren, Arthur Guerra III, James Guerra, Nicolette Guerra, Raquel Angelina Guerra Gillette, and Edward Vincent Guerra Gillette; a sister, Elizabeth Belle Flores and husband Richard; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family will receive guests from 5:00-7:00 on Tuesday, September 7th, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
