Alma Gloria Johnson, 61 years old, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, joined our Heavenly Father Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at her home in San Antonio, Texas, after celebrating a joyous evening with her entire family.
Born September 20, 1943 in Laredo, Texas to Edgardo Gonzalez and Virginia Penn Gonzalez, Alma spent her earlier years in the same city as her birth.
She graduated from Martin High School in 1961 and went on to attend college in San Antonio, Texas at Incarnate Word.
Alma served her community for 27 years with the Texas Employment Commission in San Antonio.
She was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and well grounded in her faith. Many charitable organizations were blessed with her involvement and she was a friend to all who knew her.
She was, in the truest sense, a wonderful woman with a compassionate soul and beloved by many. Her passing was unexpected, but we are comforted by the fact that she is in a better place now. We will miss her dearly, but she will live on within our hearts.
Alma is survived by her four children, Tommy Johnson III and wife, Tami, Alan Johnson, Virginia DeNisio and husband, Michael, and Lara Brin and husband, Barry; 5 grandchildren, Sydney and Cortland DeNisio, Davis and Ashley Brin and Cooper Johnson; sisters, Mrs. Arturo Virginia Barrera, Mrs. Oscar Elsa Laurel.
The family would like to thank friends and extended family for all of their loving support and prayers.
In Alma's memory, contributions may be made to the ACTS Ministry c/o Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
