Alma is survived by her daughter, Jenny Deborah Ligon (Connie); daughter-in-law, Jan Wahrmund Ligon; granddaughter, Heather Anne Schmidt (Keith); grandson, Mills Craven Ligon (Jennifer); her 7 great grandsons; sisters, Betsy Brewer (husband Leslie) and Fay McIntosh.
Alma, among so many other things, will always be remembered and admired for her consistently strong faith in God, her appreciation for life and her extremely strong will. She absolutely lived out the expression, "life is what you make it" by first trusting in the Lord and by choosing to only allow a positive attitude for herself and others around her no matter what obstacles arose in life. We remember her sharing stories of growing up in a very large family on their farm and all the many things she appreciated about that experience. This is where her love of endless walks outdoors, gardening, cooking, and working so hard to take care of her home and family began.
We have so many memories of her and today can joyously celebrate her love filled and complete life here on earth with us. We find peace and comfort in knowing that she is now in Heaven and we will hold her forever with us in our hearts.
Almas family would like to extend their appreciation and give thanks to all the amazing staff members at New Haven Memory Care in Schertz and at St Gabriels Hospice. Their love for her the many hours they spent with her is appreciated beyond words.
The family will have a private interment of ashes service at the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church to place her ashes together with her husband Sams.
Alma was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. Any memorial contributions in Almas name may be made to Alamo Heights Presbyterian Church at 6401 Broadway, San Antonio TX, 78209-4592.
