Alta Davis

Alta May Cade Shug Davis, born October 11, 1919 in Angleton, Texas, went to be with her Lord on June 28, 2001, at the age of 81. Her husband of 55 years, Lewis A. Davis and grandson, Jon Lewis Deborah preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Jay Davis and wife, Bettye of San Antonio; daughter, Jan Deborah and husband, Keith Talley of Houston; grandson, Jim Deborah and wife, Barbie; great grandchildren, Hayden and Cade of Colleyville, Texas; and sister-in-law, Dena Cade of San Antonio. She was a devout Christian who always gave of herself to others and was an example and inspiration to many. Her smile and sense of humor were infectious, warming everyones' heart. She was a member of Alamo Heights Methodist Church, Kum Doublers Class, San Antonio Womans Club, Gardenia and Musical Club, Salvation Army, Bexar County Republican Club. Before her illness, she was active with the Baptist Childrens Home. The family thanks our Heavenly Father for providing some special earthly angels for our mother's care-Judy Hall and Dr. Steven Kalter's nursing staff, Miyuki Yamamoto and Lucy Ruiz of Hospice Homecare, Penny Lee and the staff at the Forum.
