Ret. Deputy Sheriff Amador Arredondo Aguilar born on April 30, 1925 passed away on June 12, 2012 at the age of 87. Deputy Aguilar was very active with the Democratic Party having served as his Precinct Chairman for 50 years. He attended the National Convention when President Carter was elected. He taught in the Edgewood School District at Escobar Jr. High School and served as Project Chairman at Gardendale PTA Elementary. He worked under orders of five different Sheriffs: Kilday, Hauck, R. Garza, Neaves, and Copeland. Lt. Aguilar retired from the department in 1987. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Felicitas Aguilar; brother, Nicolas Aguilar and sisters, Guillermina (Minnie) Gamboa, Mary Ensminger, and Matilde Irizarry; also, son, David Anthony Aguilar, Sr. and Infants, Ruben Luis and Alma Ruth Aguilar. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Socorro Orona Aguilar; daughters, Sylvia Ann Aguilar and Norma F. Olguin; daughter-in-law, Sandra V. Aguilar; sister, Nieves Aguilar; 4 grandchildren, David, Brenda, Alma, and Andrea; 7 great-grandchildren, Christian, Dominic, Evie, Eddie, Mattie, Crystal and Reese; Honorary Family, Diane, Brianna, and Sam Bal and Freddy Dominguez. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will depart from the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.3.
