

Amalia Tran passed away on November 16, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at 54 years old. She was born on September 28, 1967 in Saigon, Vietnam to Loc Hoang Stewart. She grew up primarily in San Antonio, where she married Quyen Tran on August 13th, 1988. She worked as a hospital laboratory technician throughout her life, with hobbies in gardening, singing, photography, and bird watching. She was very dedicated to her faith in the Catholic church, establishing the first Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Society chapter in San Antonio in 2011. She was also involved in the church choir, administration, and catechism. Through all of this, she was a large advocate of guiding children and youth in the Catholic community and had many who regarded her as a second mother. She was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer in 2012, combating this cancer for nine years. She is survived by her mother, Loc Stewart; husband, Quyen Tran; sons, Michael and David Tran; sister, Susan Cantrell; and brother, James Stewart.
