

Amanda Graeber Kline, age 92, born April 27, 1910, died Sunday, May 26, 2002. Born in Independence, Texas, the second child of Henry W. and Emma Graeber of Washington County, TX. She went to school and church in Sandy Hill and Independence and attended Blinn College in Brenham. She also attended Southwestern University in Georgetown and Southwest Texas State in San Marcos. She taught school in Fort Bend County and Walholla. She later taught Kindergarten in San Antonio, and third grade in Coronado and Winston Elementary schools in the Edgewood District. She was an elder and Sunday school teacher at Beacon Hill Presbyterian Church, where she was also President of the Women of the church. Her kind spirit, gentle smile, and loving character attracted many children to her, and she loved little children dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Erwin Conrad Kline; her brothers, Bill, Ben, Edwin and Henry Graeber, and sister Louise Schroeder. She is survived by three daughters, Janice Shute and husband John of Houston, TX; Carol Morrow and Pamela Jasso of San Antonio. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Thomas Shute and Linda Shute of San Antonio; Quinn Stowe of Dallas and Bill E. Stowe of Charlotte, North Carolina; Adrian Jasso and Amanda Jasso of San Antonio; 4 great grandchildren, John Villarreal of Waxahachie and Katie, Carter and Clara Shute of San Antonio; 3 sisters, Clara Hoffman of Dallas, Lorine Wallace of Houston, Alice Clary of Bryan; 1 brother, Walter Graeber of Kosse, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
