Amelia Zamora Sanchez

Amelia enjoyed sewing, tending to her garden, decorating and shopping. Her home was always filled with delicious smells coming from her kitchen. She found joy strolling Market Square, celebrating church and community festivities, and sharing quiet evenings watching movies, novelas, cold case shows or Caso Cerrado. Whatever she did, she did with grace, humor, and an open heart that gathered friends wherever she went. She was known for her creativity, warmth, and love for her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Domingo Sanchez; her son and daughter-in-law, Carlos and Adela Sanchez; her parents, Gregorio Sr. and Epifania Zamora; and her brothers, Felipe, Gregorio Jr., and Raul Zamora.

She is survived by her son, David Sanchez (Rosa); her sister, Yolanda Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Carlos E. Sanchez (Rachel), Martha E. Banas, and Mariana E. Sanchez; and her great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Liliana, Sebastian, and Merrick E. Sanchez.

Family and friends will gather to honor Amelia’s life on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 5:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. On Monday, June 30, 2025 our doors will open at 8:30 a.m. with a Chapel Service beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.

May her memory forever remind us to sew kindness into each day, cultivate love in every season, and celebrate life’s simple joys just as Amelia did.
