

It is with great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Amelia Garza Webb, a true pioneer whose spirit touched the lives of those around her. Amelia left to be with our Lord on November 12, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of passion, resilience, and an unyielding love of our Lord and Savior, and family.
Amelia was born on November 21, 1940 in Burgos, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Andres Garza and Lorenza Garza; from a young age, she exhibited a zest for God and family that would become the hallmark of her existence. Her journey was marked by a myriad of talents and interests.
Amelia was an avid nature-lover, finding solace in the great outdoors. Whether it was the thrill of the hunt or the quiet contemplation in nature, she reveled in the beauty of God’s creations around her. Her love for the outside was not merely a pastime; it was a connection to the formed earth and its natural energy with awesome potential for our lives, and our need to connect with it that fueled her soul.
In addition to her love for the outdoors, Amelia was a gifted artist. Her artistry knew no bounds from transformed blank canvases into vibrant works, dirt and weeds into gardens and simple recipes into banquets. Her love for naturopathic medicine added to her life work and was a testament to her creativity and the boundless depths of her passion to help others.
Amelia was also a judicious businesswoman and owned and operated an auto parts business, Mission Auto Parts and Machine Shop, in the heart of South San Antonio, where her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to excellence shone brightly. Her commitment to her business and her customers set a standard of professionalism that earned her the respect and admiration of her peers in the industry.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Amelia Webb will remember her as a woman who embodied resilience, courage, and a relentless pursuit of her passions and the Lord. She leaves behind a legacy of versatility that serves as an inspiration to all who aspire to live life dedicated to service of others.
Amelia is survived by her husband, Danney Webb; sons, Robert Garza Soliz and wife Geralyn (Hanna) and their children Lisa with her son Ethan Scott, Lauren and Laina and son Daniel Garza Soliz and his wife Elaine (Rocha) and their children Andy, Felicia, Robert and Melissa and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her siblings Eliseo, Irma, Joel and survived by her siblings Elisa, Emma, Evangelina, Anita, Dora, Bertha, Andres Jr. She also had many extended family members as well as a lifetime of friends. In honoring her memory, let us celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who truly loved Jesus Christ and left a mark on the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Cornerstone Church Praise Center.
