America Pena, 88, passed away on September 24, 2026. Born on October 4, 1937, America lived with a steady devotion to those she loved, giving of herself in ways both seen and quietly constant. A resident of McAllen, Texas, she will be remembered with deep respect and enduring affection.
America’s presence brought warmth and light to everyday life. She delighted in dancing and shopping, and she was known for her love of jewelry and bright colors—small joys that reflected a spirit that found beauty in the world and shared it generously. She also sold Mary Kay, approaching her work with a giving heart and a thoughtful attention to others.
She cherished simple pleasures, including time spent gardening, and she held a special love for Elvis—one made unforgettable by meeting him once at McAllen airport, a memory that remained a treasured highlight. Through all she did, America was beloved, and her selfless care for family and friends shaped the lives around her in lasting ways.
America was preceded in death by her husband, Andres Pena, Jr., and her son, Roy Pena.
She is survived by her sons, Noe Pena (Diane) and Andres Pena, III; and her grandchildren, Patrick Aaron Pena, Lauren Elizabeth Pena, and Royana Rose Pena.
Visitation will be held at St Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Rd, San Antonio, TX 78253, on October 2, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church on October 2, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
