

Ancelmo V. Guzman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 92. Born on April 21, 1932, in Somerset, Texas, to Manuela and Jose Guzman, Ancelmo lived a life marked by joy, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
Ancelmo worked for the city of Lancaster Texas for several years with most of his employment working for family and friends as a dump truck driver delivering loads of gravel, dirt, and sand to many new construction sites throughout counties in the North Central Region of Texas. Ancelmo eventually retired at the age of 80.
He shared 72 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Herlinda Guzman, who survives him. Ancelmo was a loving brother to Juan Guzman and a guiding light to his daughters, Yolanda Brown, Anita Lieburn (Larry), and Delia Lopez (Robert Montelongo). He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuela and Jose Guzman; brothers, Ricardo and Jesus Guzman; daughter, Mary Romero; grandson, Greg Morgan; and great-grandson, Aric Morgan.
Ancelmo's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Becky Rousseau, Janet Sabala, Pety Sabala, Crystal Sabala, Matthew Romero, Skyra Morgan, Blair Richesin (Austin), Parker Brown (Heather), Rick Garza (Natalie), Ashton Garza, Austin Lieburn (Emily), and Ren Lieburn. His love and laughter will echo in the lives of his 23 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored.
Known for his love of dance, Ancelmo never missed an opportunity to move to the rhythm of Mexican music at any celebration. His passion for vintage vehicles, particularly pickup trucks, was more than a hobby; it was a part of who he was. Ancelmo could often be found tinkering with his collection, a testament to his mechanical skill and appreciation for classic beauty. His collection of hats was another trademark of his, each worn with a style unique to Ancelmo.
Ancelmo's sense of humor was legendary, a trait that kept his extensive family, from his wife to his great-great-grandchildren, filled with laughter and joy. His friendliness was extended to everyone he met, making strangers feel like old friends within moments. The word "Gorgeous" was his hallmark expression for anything positive, a word that encapsulated his outlook on life.
His love for animals was profound, especially for the stray cats he cared for in their time of need. Ancelmo's compassion knew no bounds, and his gentle spirit made him a friend to all creatures great and small.
Ancelmo will be remembered as a loving and funny man, whose warmth and generosity touched the lives of many. His laughter, his stories, and his kind-hearted nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
