Andres Bustos

He was born in Alpine, Texas, on December 1, 1955, to Sigifredo Marquez Bustos and Selestina Lara Luna. He grew up in Odessa and graduated from Ector High School in 1974 and attended Lubbock Christian College, where he played on the baseball team.

Andy worked as a land surveyor for Freese, Nichols & Esmond and later for Southwestern Bell and AT&T Phone Company where he was a design engineer for over 20 years and retired in 2011.

He was very passionate about sports, especially baseball and enjoyed sharing that passion with his kids and his many nephews and nieces.

Andy played high school football for the Ector Eagles as well as the Ector baseball team. He played semi-professional baseball with his brothers and friends in Odessa on the Dorados and Odessa Stars (Estrellas) teams.

He will be remembered dearly for his favorite saying "There's no crying in baseball!" and every time the song "Volver Volver" is heard. Of course, no one could sing it like Andres did at family gatherings.

He is survived by his parents, S.M. and Selestina Bustos of Odessa; wife, Norma Linda Bustos of San Antonio and their children, Richard Hinojos of Houston and fianc, Lauren Masset, Amy Ramirez and husband Mike of San Antonio, Andrea Flores and husband, Jason of San Antonio and Emily Bustos of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jadon, Joshua and Jacob Ramirez and Cameron Flores; siblings, Ramon Bustos and wife, Mary of Odessa, Sigifredo Bustos, Jr. and wife, Eva of Blanket, Leonel Bustos of Odessa, Mary Virginia Tijerina and husband, Luis of Fort Worth, Mercy Aguilar and husband, Carlos of Gardendale and Isabel Ruiz and husband, Jessie of Fort Worth.

He had numerous nephews and nieces that he mentored in sports and loved dearly.
