

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andres Longoria, a decorated United States Army veteran who dedicated 21 years and one month of his life in service to his country, including distinguished service during the Vietnam War. Andres passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, at the age of 80.
Andres leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his cherished children: daughter Rosa Linda Longoria McCarthy and her husband Richard McCarthy, and sons Andrew Longoria and Rene Longoria. His is survived by his siblings Armando, Martina, Elvira, Orlando, Anita, Diana, and Alberto along with many nieces and nephews.
A man of extraordinary compassion and family values, Andres took immense pride in his role as grandfather to his eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. His boundless love extended to his grand-nieces, great grand-nieces, and nephews, whom he supported and cherished throughout his life.
His two decades of military service shaped him into a man of honor, discipline, and unwavering dedication. These values were reflected not only in his distinguished military career but also in the way he lived his life and cared for his extensive family.
Andres's warm presence, wisdom, and steadfast devotion to his family created a lasting impact that will continue to influence generations to come. His life exemplified the values of service, sacrifice, and unconditional love.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary service at 7:00 PM, on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd., San Antonio, TX 78211. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
