Andy was born to Andres Marquez Sr. and Jesusa de la Garza in Sanderson, TX on February 12, 1941. He graduated from Sanderson High School in 1960. After High School, Andy joined the air force where he served our country for 19 years leaving as an Airman 1st class Jet mechanic.
Following his time in the Air Force, Andy embarked on a 30 year career with General Electric where he became an expert on the J85 jet engine. His expertise took him across the globe serving as as GE’s Aircraft Technical Representative at various air force bases.
While living in Bogota, Colombia Andy met the love of his life Patricia Torres in 1981. After a brief courtship, Andy took Patricia to be his wife and welcomed his new children: Sergio, John Paul and Patricia as his own. An expert under the hood, he developed a hobby of fixing cars for family. Andy was also known for his love of taking great photos and video long before the cell phone. In retirement, Andy continued to pursue his love of travel and enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, children and grandchildren.
