I am saddened to hear of Andy's passing. When my husband was in law school at St. Mary's, I worked at Cox & Smith. Sherry, you and Andy were so kind to us and encouraged us as few did. There were only a handful of married couples going through the rigors of law school, but ya'll let us know it could be done and our marriage could be stronger by it all. Andy was instrumental in allowing Skip to study in the firm's law library when I was having to work late or on weekends, just so we could keep connected. I remember going to your home and your dog greeting Skippy with paws on his shoulder and a "gifting" on his pants leg! Ya'll took us to the best burger joint in the city and the strangest waitress we have yet to match -- Big Hippes! We still talk about that experience and wonder if the turtle is still eyeing its customers fries! Andy was not only a great lawyer, he was a kind and generous soul. We learned of ya'lls divorce and were devastated for what it could mean for your future Sherry and that of the boys. We never doubted how he adored each of you, but there are times when we all can make not so wise choices. I pray that his family knows that as he touched our life, we know he touched many others' as well. I am sad that his length of days was short, but I am thankful that we can say our days meshed with his even for a short time. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you. May He give you peace. Peace, not as the world offers, but peaces that surpasses the hardest and fullest of circumstances: the presence of the Prince of Peace Himself, in, over and through each of your lives and futures. I knew Andy through Young Life. I was a high school kid at Austin Reagan and he was a Young Life leader while he was at UT. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior on a Y.L. ski trip that he was on. My life was changed forever on that trip and the Lord used Andy in the process. I was actually trying to track him down to thank him for the impact he had on my life when I read of his passing. I remember him as fun-loving and caring. Most importantly, he pointed me to Jesus!! 
 I am sad that I did not get to tell him that myself but feel it is important for his family to know that God used Andy in my life. I rejoice to know that I will see him in heaven!!! with deepest sympathy, mo mcswane

I'm not sure if anyone is still scrolling through these memorial tributes, but in case you are, I want to share with you a few things. A few days after my dad's death, I was talking with his good friend Carlos Castillon. I was telling him how I felt like a lost little boy without any guidance. No one could ever give me advice like my dad could. Carlos then told me that if I really thought about it, I would always know what my dad's advice would be, and that now it is my duty to pass that advice on. So, here are three pieces of advice I know my dad would want everyone to know. 1 Relax about life. Everything will work out okay. 2 Treat everyone you meet like he/she is the most important person in your life because you never know if you are the most important person in their life. 3 Never settle for being unhappy. The truth is that life is not too short, but far too long to be unhappy. I would also like to thank everyone for their support throughout a difficult time.

A terrific person! I granduated with Andy and thought he was an honest, thoughtful person. I feel sure he was the same as an attorney and grown-up. My prayers are with his boys and the rest of his family. God be with you all.

I wish i could have said goodbye to my friend but I guess that is a lesson to all of us. we should keep in contact with our friends and family because we never know when we'll be called. Justin and Trey, you may not remember me because I worked with your Dad in the early 90s when ya'll were just little boys and now you're grown men. I was saddened to hear of my friend's passing and even sadder that I didn't hear of it in time to make the memorial service in his honor. I'll tell you boys that your Dad had a profound impact on my life. As a lawyer, I carry with me everyday lessons learned from my two years working directly for and with Andy and from the years thereafter when we'd occasionally work together. I still tell everyone that Andy was the brightest person on his feet of anyone I've ever met. He taught me how to work hard as a laywer. Of course, he played hard and lived harder but he was always a gentleman and treated everyone with respect. I admired him most of all for how he treated everyone, regardless of their station in life, with respect. I remember from my years at Cox & Smith, when ya'll were just boys,how much he loved you. He was so proud of each of you; he celebrated and relished your respective differences and was anxious to see where life would take you. My heartfelt sympathy goes to the Tschoepe family on their loss. Although I had not seen Andy for many years, I fondly remember him as a funny and caring individual. I know he will be missed.

Andy Tschoepe was a wonderful individual to me at a time in my life when I needed a lot of encouragement. I was diagnosed with colon cancer in September 1992, only a few days after starting work with Akin Gump law firm. He didn't really know me and yet, his heart went out to me with his words of compassion. I also remember him being so happy-go-lucky; always making me laugh and feel good. I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM.
